THE LOCAL TOOL

Review first.
Write a separate file.

The companion Python tool reads a selected sheet in an XLSX workbook, trims only selected text columns, and reports exact duplicate rows. Removing duplicates is an explicit option. Dates, numbers and text identifiers keep their types.

Apply mode creates a new plain-data workbook from the selected sheet. It does not preserve workbook layouts, charts or other sheets. Formula-containing sheets are blocked from apply; their formulas can still be inspected in preview.
