The long way to the coast.

Follow a quiet path to an open horizon, with enough room to take the day slowly.

Field note 01 · Coastal walking · A fictional destination for this publishing demo.

Start where the road ends

Leave the village behind and follow the gravel path onto the headland. The view opens gradually: first the grass, then the cliffs, then the whole sweep of water.

This sample guide is an editorial concept, not a route description for a real destination.

A lighter pack

  • A refillable bottle and a packed lunch
  • A warm layer and a windproof shell
  • A paper notebook for the things you notice

Make room for the view

A gravel path across a green coastal headland above a calm teal sea.

Keep the afternoon unplanned. Find a sheltered place above the water, unpack something simple, and stay long enough to notice the light changing.

ORIGINAL DEMONSTRATION PROJECT

Structured content, edited in WordPress.

Field Atlas is a fictional travel journal built as a native WordPress plugin. These two pages are static exports of the locally running WordPress site. The editor and database are not hosted here.

What the editor controls

Intro, optional summary, featured image and an ordered list of text, checklist and image-with-text sections. Planning allows text and checklists; Outdoors also allows image sections. Empty optional fields and sections are omitted.

Verified in the working application

A browser edit changed the introduction, moved a checklist and added an empty section. After Update and reload, the new text and order persisted and the empty section was gone. Image selection through the native Media Library also worked.

Twelve local runtime checks covered input limits, permission and nonce rejection, category rules, malformed content and responsive image markup. The public guide pages were checked at desktop and 390-pixel mobile widths, including the project notes and editor screenshot.

Use the source

Download the plugin ZIP, then install it on your own test WordPress site. It uses WordPress core APIs and no ACF dependency. The source includes installation notes and runtime tests. No accounts, credentials, database or WordPress core files are included.
